Word of the Week Activities in the Primary Classroom
At this point, I was noticing my students recognizing some of our Ojibwe words outside of the morning announcements. Through different read alouds and in speaking to Ojibwe visitors, students were beginning to use greeting words more comfortably. Jen and I discussed ways to allow our students to feel more comfortable with other Ojibwe Words of the Week as well. Knowing that repetition and practice with words would aid in their learning, we tried out these activities with our students as a word work.
